Game Cover

Miscanthus makes an excellent low input game cover crop, Once established the crop will produce shoots annually for over 10 years. The growth cycle ensures that by late autumn the canopy has senesced, this allows good walking access and the leaf litter on the floor provides an ideal holding environment. The images below show a crop in the early summer, and then later in the autumn where rides have been cut through the crop.
